How do I get a Webshop?

Simply phone us on 01206 381881 or email us using the contact form on this website and one of our friendly members of staff will respond as soon as possible and furnish you with all the information you will need to get started.

Datapartners will give you access to the Public Demo Webshop so you can “try before you buy”. Again, just contact us and we will happily arrange this for you.

How do I accept payments on my shop?

You need to set up an account with an online merchant so you can take payments from customers online. We usually recommend PayPal. If you already have the facility to take payments using a card reader, you will need to purchase our secure online Credit Card form.

Online Payment Merchants

The Webshop product supports, but is not limited to, the following third party online payment merchants:

Securio CC Secure Google Checkout PayPal

SecPay/Paypoint SecureTrading Barclays ePDQ

Lloyds Protx Optimal Payments Nochex

Snap Card WorldPay Bucksnet

The following payment merchants require an additional one-off set-up charge.

  • Secure Trading
  • Barclays ePDQ
  • Lloyds Protx
  • Worldpay

Can I have more than one payment merchant?

Yes! The Webshop can cater for multiple merchants, giving your customers the opportunity to choose their preferred payment provider.

How much does the Webshop cost?

There is a one-off cost of £250 for the Webshop license and £350 for the installation of the software and customer database (only applicable if you are not already running a related Datapartners product). Please note that you are only paying for a valid license to use the product and are in no way buying any rights, exclusive or otherwise, to the Webshop.

There is a monthly hosting fee that will start at £10 per month and is reviewed every 3 months and adjusted according to the number of orders on your shop. The more successful your shop, the more it will cost you!

There are also various optional plugins available for the Webshop at additional cost.

I can’t afford to get a site designed. Can I still have a shop?

Yes. The Webshop comes with a standard template design so providing you don’t mind the look of the design that comes with it and you are happy to have a few of our adverts on your shop, this can be done. If you don’t like the standard template and/or the adverts, we can make adjustments to it but there will be costs involved. Remember, beggars can’t be choosers!

How do I get my website address?

Datapartners can register a domain name for you (that is the posh term for www.yoursite.com don't you know?!). This will be £30 (+VAT) every 2 years for a domain name ending in “.co.uk” or £30 per year for a domain name ending in “.com”.

If you already have a domain name, you will need to access your domain control panel and point it to our server. The Webshop must be hosted on our server for it to work. Datapartners can offer limited support with transferring/re-pointing domains so you need to make sure you know your domain suppliers well.

Can I customise my Webshop?

Up to a point, yes. The overall design of your website can be updated and new features can be added to the Webshop itself if Datapartners deems them to be beneficial to the overall product. However, changes to the shop pages (other than the stylesheet) are very tricky and we will be reluctant to make any adjustments.

Do I get support with the Webshop?

Yes. Datapartners always strives to keep customers happy and basic tuition and support is included as part of the monthly charge. Constant improvements and feedback from our clients has resulted in the Webshop being fairly straight forward and intuitive so we find that there are few support calls.

Although we will always try to help with support in other areas, please be aware that any support calls that do not directly relate to the Webshop may be charged. These include, but are not limited to: Email support, Internet connection problems, computer hardware/software issues, family problems and the answer to life, the universe and everything!

You are provided with a Wish List for you to put support queries or suggestions on things you would like to see on the Webshop. This can be found on your main Dashboard.

If you feel you require constant support or need regular updates to your site that cannot be achieved through the Webshop, we provide various maintenance contracts to suit your needs.

Can I move my Webshop away from Datapartners?

Not really, no. The Webshop is part of the Datapartners suite of products and will not work outside its own environment. Part of the setup cost you pay is for the valid license to run the shop and does not entitle you to claim any ownership of the module. If you wanted to move away, we can supply you with the HTML “shell” of your site that contains the shop but not the shop itself. We can also provide you with the raw data files. There will be an administrative charge for this and no support will be given.

What if I want to cancel my Webshop?

Obviously we don’t want to lose customers and we always strive to build long-standing relationships. However, we are aware that sometimes people feel the need to move on and we fully appreciate this. We do, however, require 30 days notice of cancellation in writing (email is sufficient).
